چکیده
Oebalus poecilus (paddy bug) is a destructive rice pest in Guyana that currently controlled with synthetic chemical pesticides. Increasing resistance rates and farmer's overuse of pesticides have resulted economic ecological issues for Guyanese farmers. Amid growing concerns, this experiment aimed to investigate the use alternative botanical extracts from leaves Momordica charantia (Baan-Carailli), Calotropis gigantea (Madar-Flower) Cordia curassavica (Blacksage) control paddy bug infestation by testing their efficacy as insecticides on O. poecilus. A completely randomized experimental design hot water extraction method was used prepare leaf experiment. Three different concentrations (6%, 12% 24%) each extract were tested adult stage bugs mortality repellent activity. The results, after 72 hours, recorded revealed all demonstrated insecticidal properties. No toxicity systemic insecticide contact observed, thus implying no effect. At average mortalities (98.62%), (90.25%) (100%). Extracts performed better at 6% 24% when compared. Leaf most effective compared other

The residual film toxicity, fumigant toxicity and repellent effect of methanol extract of root bark of Calotropis gigantea (Linn) and its chloroform and petroleum ether (40-60°C) soluble fractions were evaluated against several inster of larvae and adult of Tribolium castaneum. In residual film toxicity, methanol extract and its chloroform and petroleum ether fractions showed insecticidal activ...
متن کاملEnzymatic Activity of Momordica Charantia Fruits
The crude enzyme fraction was isolated from the fresh unripe fruits of Momordica charantia Linn and screened for its amylolytic and lipolytic activity according to standard literatures. The results indicated that the crude enzyme fraction is having effective amylolytic and lipolytic activities. These enzymatic activitieis of the extract substantiate the validity of claims made in traditional sy...
متن کاملMurti Yogesh et al: Anti-diarrheal activity of Calotropis procera and Calotropis gigantea
The 70% hydroethanolic extracts of Calotropis procera (CP) and Calotropis gigantea (CG) leaves have been evaluated and compared for anti-diarrheal activity using castor oil-induced diarrhea model in rats. Results showed statistically significant reduction in the frequency and severity of diarrhoea produced by castor oil in both CP and CG. The anti-diarrheal effect of CP was found superior to CG...

Coccinia indica leaves were extracted with 60 % ethanol, solvents were evaporated and the residue was suspended in water. This suspension was administered orally at a dose of 200 mg/kg body wt. after 18 h of fasting to normal fed and streptozotocininduced male diabetic rats (180-250 g). After 90 min the rats were killed, and blood-glucose, hepatic glucose-6-phosphatase, fructose-1,6-bisphosphat...
